About Claire
Claire is a filmmaker whose work focuses on the complexities, tragedies, and beauty that come with growing up as a woman, often with a focus on our connection to the natural world. Her stories incorporate magical realism (because she believes that there is magic in the world, if you look), and Vonnegut-style comedic irony (because right now it feels like if we don’t laugh, we’ll cry).
Originally hailing from Philadelphia, she holds a degree from Ithaca College in Film Production and Screenwriting and now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York. Her award winning undergraduate thesis, SWINE, shot on 16 mm in Acadia National Park, is a proof of concept for a feature length screenplay, which is currently searching for producing partners.
Claire’s work aims to bring communities together and tackle difficult conversations with a focus on empathy. To inspire an audience to laugh, to cry, to get up and dance, to hug one another, to take time out of their day to see the sun set. To inspire an audience to say, “We don’t know what the hell is going on, but my god the world sure is beautiful.”
